Email Marketing Manager

growwithjo Home app is looking for an Email Marketing Manager to own email as a core acquisition and retention channel for the app.

This role focuses on converting leads into subscribers, supporting new members through onboarding, and increasing long-term engagement through clear, data-driven lifecycle communication. Email is used intentionally to guide members, reduce churn, and support a consistent, positive membership experience.

GWJ Home is a women's fitness app founded by Johanna Da Silva, offering on-demand workouts, guided programs, and a monthly workout calendar designed to help members stay consistent without pressure or perfection.

The app is especially supportive of beginners, postpartum and stay-at-home moms, women returning to fitness, and anyone who has felt excluded by traditional fitness culture. Community, encouragement, and sustainable habits are at the core of everything we do.

Core Goals & Responsibilities

Core Goals

  • Increase new subscriber acquisition
  • Improve onboarding and early engagement
  • Reduce churn and increase lifetime value

Strategy & Planning

  • Own the email lifecycle strategy across trial, onboarding, active, at-risk, and churned subscribers
  • Build and maintain a 30/60/90-day email roadmap aligned with acquisition and retention goals
  • Develop segmentation based on subscriber status and in-app behavior
  • Plan email and landing page experiences together to support acquisition and onboarding

Lifecycle & Automation

  • Build and optimize subscription-specific flows including trial nurture, onboarding, engagement, churn prevention, and winback
  • Use behavioral triggers tied to Uscreen activity such as logins, watch time, inactivity, and cancellations
  • Ensure automated emails link to clear, conversion-focused landing pages
  • Test and optimize flows to improve activation and retention

Campaign Management

  • Plan, write, and schedule 4–8 email campaigns per month
  • Create and optimize landing pages for campaigns, launches, challenges, etc.
  • Own A/B testing across subject lines, content, timing, CTAs, and page structure
  • Maintain a clear monthly email and campaign calendar

Performance & Optimization

  • Track performance across email and landing pages tied to subscription KPIs such as trial conversion, early churn, and reactivation
  • Monitor engagement trends, list health, and unsubscribes
  • Identify lifecycle drop-offs and optimize email and landing page experiences accordingly

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with CX to align email and human support touchpoints
  • Collaborate with marketing on launches, offers, and feature adoption
  • Share performance insights and recommendations regularly

  • Experience with subscription or membership-based products
  • Strong lifecycle and retention mindset
  • Data-driven, organized, and proactive
  • Comfortable owning email as a strategic growth channel

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Uscreen or similar subscription platforms
  • SMS lifecycle experience
